ENTER "TRUMP METAVERSE" - IMPLICATIONS FOR SMART FASHION

The Trump Organization is venturing into the digital realm, signaling plans for a TRUMP-branded metaverse and NFT marketplace. DTTM Operations LLC, the entity managing Trump-related trademarks, filed a trademark application with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for the name "TRUMP."

The application outlines an expansive virtual ecosystem where users can engage with TRUMP-branded digital assets. Features include virtual apparel, footwear, and accessories, as well as a TRUMP-branded virtual restaurant. Users can also experience simulated transportation options like limousines, aircraft, and trains, and participate in guided tours of Trump hotels, public buildings, and government sites. Additionally, the platform plans to offer virtual training programs in public service, real estate, construction, and business.

A notable aspect of this venture is the development of an NFT marketplace. This platform would allow users to buy and trade digital assets, with a unique stipulation: only content authorized by the "45th and 47th President of the United States" (Donald Trump) would be permitted.

This move aligns with President Trump's increasing involvement in the digital asset space. In January 2025, the Official Trump (TRUMP) memecoin was launched, followed by the First Lady Melania Trump’s memecoin (MELANIA), both of which saw significant market interest. Furthermore, the Trump Media and Technology Group recently filed trademarks for six investment products and announced Truth.Fi, a financial services firm planning to invest $250 million in various projects.

The trademark application was filed on an "intent to use" basis, indicating active planning for future commercial activities under the TRUMP brand. However, the actualization of this digital venture will depend on various factors, including market demand, cryptocurrency volatility, and regulatory challenges.

Crucially, the filing includes Class 25 (clothing) and Class 9 (wearable tech), suggesting TMTG aims to bridge physical apparel with metaverse fashion—a hallmark of "smart fashion."

Smart Fashion in the Trump Metaverse: What Could It Look Like?

1. Digital Twin Merchandise

Trump’s iconic “MAGA” hats and branded suits could be mirrored as NFT wearables for avatars. Similar to Adidas’ Into the Metaverse collection, supporters might purchase a physical red hat paired with a digital version for their Trump Metaverse avatar. This hybrid model taps into Gen Z’s $360 billion spending power on digital goods (Nasdaq).

2. Political Status Symbols

Luxury smart fashion brands like DressX and The Fabricant sell digital-only couture. A Trump-branded equivalent could feature limited-edition NFTs, such as virtual gold-plated suits or animated campaign pins, serving as status symbols in conservative digital circles.

3. Wearable Tech Integration

The trademark’s “wearable computer peripherals” clause opens doors to IoT-connected apparel. Imagine MAGA hats with embedded sensors linking to metaverse events or AR-enabled lapel pins that trigger campaign speeches via smartphone.

4. Virtual Rally Uniforms

During the 2020 campaign, Trump’s team sold $8 million in merchandise monthly (Forbes). In the metaverse, coordinated avatar outfits—think virtual bomber jackets with real-time debate feeds—could create a unified visual identity for supporters.
