BERNARD ARNAULD RECEIVES FRANCE'S HIGHEST HONOR: GRAND-CROIX DE LA LEGION 'HONNEUR

Bernard Arnault, the world's current richest person, has been awarded the prestigious Grand-Croix de la Légion d'Honneur by French President Emmanuel Macron. This accolade, bestowed at the Élysée Palace, marks the highest distinction within France's well-established system of recognizing exceptional merit, dating back to Napoleon.

Arnault, founder and CEO of luxury goods giant LVMH (Moët Hennessy – Louis Vuitton), joins an elite group of individuals who have made significant contributions to France. This recognition comes a year after Macron similarly awarded the Legion d'Honneur (though not the Grand-Croix) to Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, albeit in a private ceremony.

The ceremony honoring Arnault wasn't solely a business affair. It was also attended by his family members, showcasing the personal significance of this prestigious award. Notably, renowned artist Jeff Koons and fellow French billionaire Vincent Bolloré were also present, adding another layer of distinction to the occasion.
